Austin Cheatham joined Bowden & Wood in 2020 and returned in 2024 as a Senior Accountant. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Campbellsville University, where he received the Accounting Award for achieving the highest GPA in his graduating class. Additionally, he is finishing his Ph.D. in Management with an emphasis in Accounting, expected by December 2024.
With six years of experience across multiple firms, Austin has developed expertise in tax preparation, financial statement preparation, equity, stock-based compensation, fixed assets, internal-use software capitalization, and debt instrument accounting. He has extensive knowledge of GAAP compliance in these areas and has taken leadership roles in process improvements and month-end close procedures. Notably, Austin has experience working with senior leadership teams, focusing on process improvements and streamlining financial operations. His work also extends to cash projections, audit support, and cross-functional team collaboration with IT, legal, finance, and acquisition teams.
Austin enjoys the collaborative, family-oriented culture at Bowden & Wood and values the firm’s balance between a broad client base and a supportive work environment. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
